A tethered cleaning platform combines electrical power, flight, and liquid delivery. The hose, pressure, and spray accessory are part of the dynamic load and must be evaluated together with the aircraft.

The purpose of mission planning is to establish a verifiable equipment configuration and an operating procedure suited to the building or surface. A tethered system does not remove the need for a site assessment or control of the area below the aircraft.

Define the surface and cleaning medium

Identify the material and condition of the facade, glazing, solar panel, or industrial structure. Confirm which liquids can be used without damaging coatings, seals, frames, or nearby equipment. Water, deionized water, or an approved cleaning solution may require different pumps, seals, and nozzles.

Define the expected result and test the process on a limited area before expanding the work. The equipment supplier can help match connections and flow requirements, but surface compatibility remains part of the project assessment.

Calculate pressure, flow, and delivery

Specify the pressure and flow required at the nozzle, not only at the pump. Height, hose length, internal diameter, fittings, and flow all affect the output available at the aircraft. Confirm the water source, pump power, connectors, filtration, and a method for releasing pressure before maintenance.

The pump and hose need operating values compatible with the spray accessory. If a chemical solution is used, verify material compatibility throughout the liquid path.

Include the hose in the payload assessment

The aircraft carries the spray assembly, a changing length of hose, and forces created by movement and spraying. The assessment should cover maximum height, lateral travel, hose support, and the way the load changes throughout the mission.

The electrical tether and liquid hose must be managed to reduce crossing, rubbing, and snagging. The correct arrangement depends on the aircraft, accessories, and site geometry.

Organize the site and operating procedure

Establish an exclusion zone below the work, control access, and review windows, air intakes, electrical equipment, vehicles, and drainage. Define team communications, preflight checks, stop criteria, and responses to pressure loss, leakage, blockage, tether obstruction, or weather changes.

Operators must follow the manuals for the UAV, tethered power system, pump, and cleaning accessories, together with local permissions and safety requirements.
