Planning a Tethered Drone Evaluation Package for Distributors

Define a representative demonstration configuration, supporting documents and customer questions for an initial distributor equipment enquiry.

The decision

Build the initial evaluation around a specific customer application and identifiable equipment. Request the documents and support needed to explain that configuration clearly.

Choose a representative customer task

Identify the application your team expects to discuss most often, such as an existing DJI platform, a cleaning attachment or a custom airborne power requirement. Start with the customer equipment and conditions that are already known.

An evaluation package should make that task understandable. It does not need to include every product family. If several applications are under consideration, list them separately and ask which proposed configuration could be reviewed for each one.

Define what the demonstration must show

Write down the questions a customer needs answered: supplied equipment, mounting, power source, handling, documented limits and project information required for a quotation. Keep the demonstration tied to the actual selected equipment and conditions.

Ask for current manuals and product information. Where a sample project requires more detailed drawings or interface review, identify that need early. Do not imply that a demonstration for one aircraft establishes compatibility with every model a distributor sells.

Request the supporting package

Specify the equipment, transport requirements, accessories and spare parts to be quoted. Ask what training or technical support is available for the selected scope and have the agreed items reflected in the proposal. Availability and commercial arrangements should be confirmed for the project.

The manual library and product catalogue provide a shared starting point for preparing customer discussions. Preserve model names, rating labels and conditions when adapting product information for your local sales team.

Collect structured feedback

After an evaluation, record the customer application, configuration shown, conditions and remaining questions. Separate requests for different aircraft, cable lengths, accessories or power levels so they can be reviewed individually.

This gives the next enquiry a concrete basis. It also helps identify which additional documents or configurations would support future sales discussions, without assuming that a first package covers the entire market or that a commercial arrangement has already been agreed.

Discuss this configuration

Share your aircraft, task and project requirements. We can review the equipment scope and prepare a quotation for your configuration.
