The decision
A hose supplies cleaning fluid; an electrical tether supplies power. A cleaning drone can use one or both, so define the water equipment and the power equipment separately.
Two connections, two different jobs
The word “tethered” can describe more than one connection in a cleaning installation. A drone connected to a ground pump by a hose may still use its onboard battery for flight. The hose does not establish that the aircraft also has continuous electrical power.
With a power tether, electricity travels from a ground station to an airborne power module. The module supplies the aircraft at the required voltage. A combined cleaning project therefore needs a water-delivery plan and an electrical plan.
| Water path | Electrical path |
|---|---|
| Water supply and ground pump | Site mains or another suitable AC source |
| Hose and fluid connections | Ground power station and tether cable |
| Spray accessory and nozzle | Airborne power module and aircraft interface |
| Pressure, flow and cleaning result | Voltage, load and operating duration |
What the spray gun specification tells you
A spray accessory describes the water outlet and its aircraft installation. Review its mounting, mass, nozzle and documented operating conditions. Those specifications do not describe the ground power station or the aircraft’s endurance.
For a Matrice 400 project, TP-M400-SG1 and TP-M400-SG2 have separate product information. Keep the selected model in the enquiry alongside the proposed pump and hose. The pump and hose guide covers that side of the selection.
What changes when you add tethered power
An electrical tether adds airborne equipment, cable weight and ground equipment. The module has to suit the aircraft’s electrical input, and the complete installation has to accommodate the spray equipment and both routes to the ground.
On the ground, identify whether the pump and the power station share one source. Their input requirements and combined load need to be considered together. A pump’s pressure or flow specification cannot be used to size the aircraft’s power module.
Separate your enquiry into supplied and existing equipment
If you already have a cleaning drone, pump or hose, list those models first. Then identify the missing equipment: a spray accessory, a power conversion, a ground station, a cable or a complete proposed package.
For an accessory-only purchase, use the named product’s enquiry. If the goal is longer powered operation within the site’s working area, include the aircraft input, sustained load, height and payload arrangement so we can review the ground-to-air power chain.
You can select listed modules in Build or discuss a custom configuration when the project needs other interfaces or equipment.
