Airborne power & integration

Tethered Drone Power: 30 kW and Above

Compare our high-power ground stations and onboard modules by voltage, power rating, tether length and the requirements for a matched system.

The decision

Keep each power label with its conditions, then confirm the complete ground-to-air pairing with us. Select high-power equipment as part of the whole tethered power chain, not from the kW figure alone.

Products at 30 kW and above

At 30 kW and above, our ground power stations are TP-T36, with 36 kW rated output; TP-ST60, with 60 kW rated output; and TP-ST70, with 70 kW rated output.

The onboard options are TP-P36, with 32 kW recommended design power; TP-P70, with 70 kW rated power; and TP-P100, with 108 kW rated power. Keep each power label and its conditions beside the value when comparing the equipment, as described in continuous, rated and peak power.

Compare the ground power stations

Model Input voltage Output voltage Published power and conditions Output current Tether length
TP-T36 380–400 VAC (three phase), 50 Hz 1000–1500 VDC range; 1500 VDC rated and default Rated output power: 36 kW. The 36 kW constant-power limit and 25 A current limit apply together; no peak-power rating. 24 A rated and default. Maximum continuous output current: 25 A, subject to the 36 kW power limit. 120 m
TP-ST60 380 VAC, three phase + neutral 1500 VDC default maximum for the standard system; factory-default output voltage: 1500 VDC Rated output power: 60 kW Output current setting: 30–40 A; factory-default output current: 40 A 120–200 m, configuration dependent
TP-ST70 380 VAC, three phase + neutral 1500 VDC default maximum for the standard system Rated output power: 70 kW Not listed 150 m

Compare the onboard power modules

Model Input voltage Output voltage Published power and conditions Rated output current
TP-P36 1200–1450 VDC 58.5 VDC rated; 54–59 VDC range Recommended design power: 32 kW. Extreme-test output power: 36 kW only, not a continuous rated output. Not listed
TP-P70 1600–2000 VDC 116 VDC rated; 110–118 VDC range Rated power: 70 kW. 72 kW continuous operation requires the power-supply enclosure temperature to remain ≤35°C. Forced-air cooling. No peak-power rating is specified. 600 A
TP-P100 1600–2000 VDC 430 VDC rated; 400–440 VDC range Rated power: 108 kW. Maximum output power: 120 kW. 251 A

“Not listed” means the product page does not state a value. For those fields, ask us to confirm the project requirement instead of filling the gap with an assumed value. Send the relevant equipment manual and connection details with your enquiry.

Keep each power limit with its conditions

TP-T36’s 36 kW constant-power limit and 25 A current limit apply together. Read its 1000–1500 VDC output range with both limits: reducing voltage does not permit current above 25 A. Setting changes require our guidance.

Use 32 kW as the actual design power for TP-P36, allowing for conversion losses. Its 36 kW value is an extreme-test value only and must not be used as a continuous rated output.

For TP-P70, the ≤35°C condition applies to the power-supply enclosure. It is required for 72 kW continuous operation, and no peak-power rating is specified.

TP-P100 is the model name. Its rated output is 108 kW and its maximum output is 120 kW; retain those labels in the project specification.

Confirm the complete pairing

Start with the available ground supply and the aircraft’s allowed DC input range. Compare the ground station output, the voltage arriving through the tether under load, the module’s input range, and the aircraft’s continuous and transient demand. Then check mounting, mass and airflow as part of the complete installation. The ground station and airborne module matching guide covers each connection.

For TP-ST60 and TP-ST70, the default maximum system voltage is 1500 VDC. Confirm any other voltage with us before choosing an airborne module.

TP-P70 and TP-P100 both list 1600–2000 VDC input. These high-power modules are mostly used on firefighting drones, and we usually customize their ground power station to the project’s requirements.

Send us one brief with the aircraft model or drawing, DC voltage range, sustained and peak demand, payload, weight allowance, tether length, ground station and available AC supply. Attach the relevant manual revision so we can review the matched configuration and any remaining interface questions. For module-specific preparation, see how to specify an onboard power module.
